Domaine Thierry Violot-Guillemard
Pommard 1er Cru “Rugiens” 2015
Domaine Thierry Violot-Guillemard
Here the nose is quite similar to that of the Epenots though with the addition of a floral element. There is excellent underlying tension to the saline and stony middle weight flavors that possess a classy mouth feel thanks to the fine-grained tannins, all wrapped in a delineated, intense and lingering finish.

Domaine Comte Armand
Pommard 1er Cru 2016
Domaine Comte Armand
A background whiff of wood easily allows the earthy yet quite pretty aromas of plum, violet, dark cherry and soft spice nuances to shine. The mouth feel of the slightly bigger and richer flavors is also admirably sleek while delivering excellent length on the mouth coating and well-balanced finish. This is perhaps a bit less structured than is usually the case as it should be reasonably approachable young if that's your preference

Doudet Naudin
Pommard 1er Cru Les Charmots 2018
Doudet Naudin
Brilliant color with garnet nuances. The fine, fresh and ripe nose expresses blackberry and macerated red fruits. The wine is straightforward and its fruit leaves a few spicy notes at the end of the mouth, but still in a velvety and pleasant whole on the palate. After a few years, wild game (hare) notes will not fail to develop in this typical wine for aging.

Here too there is evident but not dominant wood present on the pretty essence of red pinot fruit, lavender, spice and soft earth-scented aromas. The sleek, delicious and caressing middle weight plus flavors also brim with minerality that continues onto the dusty, long and more harmonious finish. Lovely.

Domaine Fontaine-Gagnard
This is aromatically similar to the Clos des Chênes if just not quite as spicy. The sleek and delicious flavors possess both good energy and delineation if not the same density along with a lovely mid-palate texture that carries over to the lingering if not particularly complex finale.

Pommard Arvelets 1er Cru 2011
Domaine Confuron Cotetidot
A relatively elegant and high-toned nose offers up airy notes of raspberry and cherry plus hints of wet stone. There is a refined mouth feel to the precise and equally mineral-inflected medium weight flavors that possess good verve on the moderately austere and mildly dry finish.
